PROJECT PROFILE

U.S. Bridge Featured in Cannelville Road Bridge Case Study

Once in awhile we are requested to perform along side of the best in our industry. The Cannelville Road Bridge was one of those stories. In Muskingum County we built a bridge that uses an innovative press-brake-formed steel tub girder (PBTG) system. We are proud of our technical prowess and innovation. We always build schedules that attempt to be met or superseded. However, the Cannelville project exceeds even our normal expectations. Ahead of schedule is always a good standard to set. Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance Cannelville Road Bridge Case Study showcases our work and process.

We are proud of this project and thankful for the team at Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance for their case study on this project. The Cannelville Road Bridge Case Study exemplifies what we aim to do on every project. The case study by Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance, in its full, is found here. Alternatively, click here to view it in PDF format. Here is a summary of the case study findings of this bridge:

  • First of its kind in the state
  • Completed ahead of schedule in just 26 days
  • Service life of more than 100 years
  • Consists of modular shallow trapezoidal boxes fabricated from cold-bent structural steel plate
  • After the plate is formed, a thin lightweight deck is bolted to the girder, making it a modular unit for quick assembly on location

Cannelville Case Study Details

This study showcases how we manufacture and deliver a bridge to the project location. We use trucks and deliver the prefabricated half-width modules ready to assemble. These 31 ton modules placed and setup in about 22 minutes. Think legos, but stronger. View our infographic to learn more.
