Overview

U.S. Bridge Bridge Railing & Barriers

Choosing the proper railing carries the same importance as floor construction. Decorative architectural railing for pedestrian and signature settings, customizable in pattern and color.

Concrete Safety Shape

Crash-tested concrete barrier (Jersey or F-shape) for high-speed vehicular containment and redirection.

Tubular

Clean steel tubular railing for a modern look on pedestrian and light-vehicular bridges.

W-Beam Guardrail

Galvanized W-beam steel guardrail mounted to the truss, the workhorse vehicular railing.

Thrie-Beam Guardrail

Questions & Answers

Bridge Railing & Barriers FAQ

Design & Selection

U.S. Bridge offers five railing and barrier systems: ornamental, concrete safety shape, tubular, W-beam guardrail and thrie-beam guardrail.

Both are galvanized steel beam guardrails. W-beam has two corrugations and is the standard vehicular rail; thrie-beam has three corrugations and provides a higher containment level for heavier or higher-speed traffic.
Customization

Yes. Ornamental and tubular railings can be customized in pattern, profile and color, and steel railings can receive architectural paint systems over galvanizing.
Standards & Safety

Yes. Vehicular barriers, including the concrete safety shape and beam guardrails, are available to meet AASHTO MASH and NCHRP 350 crash-test levels as required by the project.

Pedestrian railings are engineered to meet applicable code heights and opening limits to prevent falls, with ornamental and tubular options for architectural settings.
